Kogi Holds State Oversight Committee Meeting on Basic Healthcare Provision Fund

The meeting, presided over by the Coordinating Commissioner for Health, Abdulazeez Adams Adeiza, brought together key stakeholders from relevant ministries, government agencies, development partners, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), security agencies, and private healthcare providers. Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Adeiza said the gathering was aimed at reviewing the implementation of the Basic Healthcare Provision Fund and ensuring that available resources are efficiently managed to achieve maximum impact on the health and well-being of the people of Kogi State. He stressed that the equitable allocation and prudent utilisation of resources remain critical to improving access to quality primary healthcare services across the state. According to the Commissioner, the State Government is committed to ensuring that every naira disbursed under the Basic Healthcare Provision Fund is transparently managed and directed towards strengthening healthcare facilities, improving service delivery, and expanding access to essential health services, particularly for vulnerable populations. He noted that collaboration among government institutions, development partners, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders is essential to achieving the objectives of the programme.
