Consider Our State For Your Interventions; Kogi Government Appeals to NDIC

By Musa Solomon Kogi State Government has appealed to the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) to consider the state in any of their interventions. The State Commissioner for Education Hon. Wemi Jones made the appeal on Wednesday in Lokoja at the ceremony to mark the "2026 Financial Literacy Day." The program was organised by the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation to train youth on how to make sound financial decisions and develop saving skills. The theme of this year's celebration is "Smart Money Talks " He stated that the Kogi State Government is open for collaboration from any organization, which programs will add value to its transformational initiative. The Commissionere noted that financial literacy is a necessity, and the youth must be equipped with the knowledge and discipline required to manage resources wisely, save responsibly, and embrace entrepreneurship. He called for the inclusion of students in a practical empowerment scheme for the knowledge acquired during programs like to have a greater impact on the students. The Commissionerr who was represented by the Permanent Secretary Mr Alabi Albert Bamigbade Commended the Nigeria Insurance Corporation for picking the State to celebrate the 2026 Financial Literacy Day, noting that their efforts are in consonant with the State Government Educational Policies that are tailored towards poverty and crime reduction in the State. He stated that the State Government, under the leadership of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, will continue in the trajectory laid by his immediate predecessor by ensuring that the Education Sector is properly funded. …
