By Gloria Ojochogu Amodu The Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, on an inspection tour of ongoing federal road projects in Kogi State on Tuesday 9th of June 2026. He reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to delivering quality infrastructure that will enhance economic growth and improve connectivity across the country. The inspection tour, which was conducted in the company of the Kogi State Commissioner for Works, Hon. Barr. Abdulsalami Ozigi Deedat, provided an opportunity for both federal and state officials to assess the progress of critical road projects within the state and address challenges affecting their timely completion. Engr. Umahi noted that Kogi State occupies a strategic position as the gateway connecting the northern and southern parts of the country, making the provision and maintenance of road infrastructure in the state a priority for the Federal Government. The Kogi State Commissioner for Works, Hon. Barr. Abdulsalami Ozigi Deedat commended the Federal Ministry of Works for its sustained intervention in the state’s road network. He highlighted the positive impact of the ongoing projects on transportation, commerce, and socio-economic development across the state. Nothing that Kogi State bordered 10 States including FCT which gives a strategic location in the country. According to the Commissioner, the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo remains committed to collaborating with the Federal Government to ensure the successful execution of infrastructure projects that will improve the welfare of citizens and stimulate economic activities.
