The Management and Staff of the Kogi State Security Trust Fund (KGSSTF) are pleased to announce the formal confirmation of the appointment of Air Vice Marshal Umar Omeiza Farouk (Rtd), DSS, MSS, FWC, as Executive Chairman of the Fund by the Kogi State House of Assembly.
The confirmation followed a successful screening exercise conducted by the Honourable House and reflects the confidence reposed in his distinguished credentials, exemplary leadership qualities, and extensive experience in security administration, intelligence coordination,

During the confirmation proceedings, the Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf, congratulated AVM Umar Omeiza Farouk (Rtd) on his successful confirmation and commended the remarkable progress recorded under his leadership since assumption of office. The Speaker urged him to build on the achievements already recorded, sustain ongoing reforms, and further strengthen the security architecture of the state. He also encouraged him to deepen collaboration with critical stakeholders and maintain a close working relationship with the House Committee on Security and other relevant committees whenever necessary, in order to enhance legislative support and improve security outcomes across the state.
Since his appointment on 20th January 2025, AVM Umar Omeiza Farouk (Rtd) has provided visionary leadership that has significantly strengthened the operational capacity and strategic direction of the KGSSTF. Under his stewardship, the Fund has recorded notable achievements, including:
* Strengthening collaboration and operational synergy between the KGSSTF and security agencies across Kogi State.
* Provision of critical logistics and operational support to enhance security response and crime prevention efforts.
* Expansion of stakeholder engagement involving traditional institutions, community leaders, security agencies, government institutions, and development partners.
* Enhanced resource mobilization efforts to support security operations and interventions across the state.
* Strengthening intelligence-driven community security initiatives to improve early warning and rapid response mechanisms.
* Promotion of inter-agency coordination and synergy through continuous dialogue and strategic consultations.
* Increased public awareness and community participation in security matters through advocacy and sensitization programmes.
* Support for local vigilante and community-based security structures to complement formal security agencies.
* Institutional strengthening within the KGSSTF to improve transparency, efficiency, and effective service delivery.
* Successful coordination of the landmark Kogi State Security Summit and Fundraising Programme, which brought together key national and state stakeholders including government officials, security chiefs, traditional rulers, financial institutions, corporate organizations, and development partners to deliberate on sustainable security financing and collaborative strategies.
These interventions have continued to reinforce the role of the KGSSTF as a critical partner in the collective effort to safeguard lives and property, promote peace, and create an enabling environment for sustainable socio-economic development in Kogi State.
The Management and Staff of KGSSTF express profound appreciation to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his unwavering commitment to security sector reforms and for the confidence reposed in AVM Umar Omeiza Farouk (Rtd) to lead the Fund.
