By Musa Solomon Kogi State College of Education (Technical) Mopa on Tuesday in Mopa Matriculated 509 Students for various courses at the 14th Matriculation Ceremony of the College. The increase in enrollment from 135 students last year to 509 students this year is as a result of the empowerment Programme of the College. Kogi State Commissioner for Education Hon. Wemi Jones at the Matriculation Ceremony emphasized the State Government Commitment to provide a safe and conducive environment for learning. The Commissioner while congratulating the Students on their induction into the college said the State Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo is committed to ensuring that learners in the State have access to affordable and quality Education. He noted that the Governor in his resolve to develop the State through Education has ensured that all the courses being offered in the State's own higher institutions are accredited by the relevant regulatory bodies. Honourable Wemi stated that the Governor has restored and increased the State Bursary Allowance to cater for the needs of the students of Kogi State indigene in higher institutions in Nigeria, adding that the Governor increase the Bursary Allowance to ₦30.000 for the undergraduates Students and ₦300,000 for Medical and Law School Students.
