
The Executive Director, Kogi state Primary Health care Development Agency, Dr. Muazu Omeiza Musa has pledged the support of his Agency to enabling the sustainance of the Annual state level quantification for family planning and maternal Health Commodities.
Dr. Muazu Omeiza Musa gave the promise in a message at a three day workshop for the quantification of family planning, pre-eclampsia and Postpartum Hemorrhage Commodities for Kogi state held at the Ayonate Hotels, Lokoja.
According to him, the programme is a critical step taken towards improving the quality of reproductive, maternal and child health services across the state.
The Executive Director noted that the importance of accurate quantification cannot be overemphasized as it provides the evidence base for effective planning, budgeting, procurement and distribution of life-saving Commodities.
In an Opening speech, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Mr. Steven Momoh Aziz said Family planning, pre-eclampsia Management, Postpartum Hemorrhage prevention are priority areas in reproductive health strategy.
According to him, they directly impact maternal and new born survival stressing that as a ministry, they will remain committed to strengthening supply chain that guarantee availability, accessibility and affordability of the vital Commodities at all levels of care.
The organizers of the workshop, United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), an Agency that focuses on improving reproductive and maternal health worldwide in collaboration with Planned Parenthood Federation of Nigeria (PPFN) noted that the workshop was put in place to improve the quantification for family planning and health.
The three day workshop is expected to end on Saturday.
