Lokoja.
In a heartwarming display of commitment to the welfare of young Nigerians serving their Fatherland in Kogi State, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has once again proved himself to be a promise keeper.
This development follows a commitment made by the Governor during the swearing-in ceremony for the 2025 Batch A Stream I Corps members held recently at the Asaya orientation camp. Represented at the ceremony by the State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Honourable Monday Aridaojo Anyebe, Governor Ododo had assured the Corps members of the state government’s dedication to improving their welfare and cushioning their effects in this current economic reality.
This act of kindness is not only a fulfillment of his pledge but also a demonstration of his commitment to supporting the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) serving in Kogi State. As a promise keeper, Governor Ododog’s actions are likely to pay dividends come 2027, as the people of Kogi State will undoubtedly remember his good deeds.
Speaking to journalists in Lokoja on Saturday, the Commissioner for Youths and Sports development, Hon. Anyebe Aridojo Monday confirmed the donation, noting that it reflects the Governor’s genuine concern for the well-being of youths serving in the state.
Anyebe in his said “The welfare of Corps members remains a top priority for the administration of Governor Ododo. This donation is part of the efforts to ensure that the orientation exercise runs smoothly and that Corps members are well catered for,” he stated.
The Commissioner commended the NYSC officials for their diligence and cooperation, assuring that more support would be extended to the scheme in Kogi State in due course.
Corps members at the camp expressed appreciation for the kind gesture, describing it as timely and motivating. They also praised the state government for demonstrating a strong sense of responsibility and hospitality.
As the people of Kogi State look forward to the future, they can be assured that Governor Ododo’s leadership will continue to prioritize their needs and welfare.
