The Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abdulazeez Adams Adeiza, earlier today engaged in an interview today with Media Consultant to kogi State Government Mr Ebere Young, during which he eloquently discussed the remarkable accomplishments of the Ministry of Health over the past year.

Dr. Adeiza reiterated the current administration’s unwavering dedication to primary healthcare and the development of human resources within the health sector. He emphasized the government’s commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure and attracting more doctors and healthcare professionals to the state.

Among the key achievements highlighted by Dr. Adeiza were the significant improvements in primary healthcare, the enhancement of human resources through training initiatives, and the development of healthcare infrastructure. Additionally, he underscored the importance of effective risk communication and community engagement in disease prevention and health promotion.

Noteworthy achievements such as free hydrocele surgery for community members, vitamin A supplementation for 720,000 children, and anti-malaria supplementation for 200,000 pregnant women were also mentioned. The establishment of KGSHIA Rapid Respond Desk units in eight accredited health facilities further demonstrated the Ministry’s commitment to excellence.

Dr. Adeiza expressed his gratitude to development partners, particularly the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF , AHF , CIHP and others for their invaluable support in advancing the state’s healthcare system.

This interview served as a platform for Dr. Adeiza to showcase the Ministry’s achievements and outline its future plans, reaffirming the administration’s dedication to enhancing the health and wellbeing of Kogi State residents.
