Hon. Kingsley Fanwo, the Commissioner for Information and Communications, proudly announced that the Kogi State Website has been recognized as the top-performing website among all APC States in Nigeria. This prestigious accolade was disclosed at the gathering of Information Officers where Gov Ododo Awards were bestowed upon Information Officers in his office in Lokoja.
“The recent recognition of the Kogi State Website as the best among all APC states is a testament to our team’s unwavering commitment and dedication. I urge each and every one of you to continue striving for excellence in your work,” he declared.
The monthly Gov Ododo Awards serve as a platform to honour the exceptional performance of Information Officers, with cash prizes of N100, 000, N70, 000, and N50, 000 awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners, respectively.
During the meeting, Hon. Fanwo emphasized the importance of Information Officers taking ownership of their roles and striving for excellence through diligence, attention to detail, and competence.
He also announced that His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has approved a proposal to engage a consultant to provide specialized training for Information Officers and other Ministry staff. This training will enhance their reportage skills and leverage technology for more effective and efficient performance.
“As the State’s Chief Information Officer, it is my duty to disseminate information to the public, and the Information Officers are the frontline workers who carry out this crucial task. I am impressed by the dedication and hard work displayed by each of you, and it is only fitting that you are recognized and rewarded for your outstanding performance, he said.
The recipients of the Gov Ododo Awards for the month of July were Taye Bayode, Dorathy Onoja, and Abah Benjamin, who were presented with their prizes by Hon. Fanwo on behalf of His Excellency.
