Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has congratulated Alhassan Yahaya on his emergence as the new President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ). Yahaya was elected at the just-concluded triennial delegates conference of the union held in Owerri, Imo State capital.
In a statement according to the S.A Media to the Governor, Hon Ismaila Isah in Lokoja today, Governor Ododo described Yahaya as a worthy media professional committed to the welfare of journalists in Nigeria. He praised the all-inclusive consultation and campaign that led to Yahaya’s emergence as the new NUJ president, urging him to continue promoting an all-inclusive agenda and prioritize the welfare of union members.
The Governor also congratulated Alhaji Momoh Jimoh Adeiza, General Manager of Radio Nigeria Prime FM, Lokoja, on his election as the Vice President of the NUJ in Zone D. Adeiza is an astute journalist who has brought honor and recognition to Kogi State over the years.
Governor Ododo wishes the new NUJ president and other members of the new national executive committee a successful tenure in office.
