Kogi State Signage and Advertisement Agency would foster good working relationship with owners of billboards in Lokoja describing the out door advertisement sector as one of the fastest growing industries in Nigeria.
It’s was the first maiden meeting in 2025 with all the practitioners and billboards owner in Lokoja at KOSSAA Office on Thursday, the General Manager of Kogi State Signage and Advertisement Agency Hon Osaseyi Richard said the Agency would work in synergy with all stakeholders in order to achieve its goals and ensure a healthy environment.
He described the establishment of KOSSAA in the State as a welcome development, saying the Agency has ensures sanity in signage display across the State and has generated revenue for the State Government.
Hon Osaseyi encouraged the practitioners to register with the Agency, noting that henceforth All Billboards would be given code numbers to identify the legal from illegal ones.
The Agency he said would go all out to bring down all illegal Billboards and those clusttered together, causing environmental disorder especially in Lokoja the State Capital.
He advised them to start paying all the backlog of past and present levy to avoid penalties.
He gave a time limit of one week to Billboards owners yet to pay up and register with the agency to do so and be documented to avoid enforcement that would be carried out very soon.
Responding one of the practitioners Mr Benjamin Akanmode appreciated the Agency for organizing the meeting, saying it would build a good working understanding between both parties in the discharged of their responsibilities, promising that the Practitioners would fully comply with the laws that regulate the displaying of billboards in the State.
He commended the State Government for the establishment of the Agency and promised to cooperate and work hand in hand for the smooth running of the Agency.
Also speaking the Regulations Officer of Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON), Mr Dauda Danladi promised the Council’s readiness to work with KOSSAA and encouraged businesses owners to also register with ARCON as they represent the National Body.
