Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State has made a firm commitment to persist in the battle against all threats to the security of lives and property within the state.

Governor Ododo made this pledge in Lokoja on Saturday, February 17, 2024, during a press briefing following a closed-door meeting with the chairmen of the 21 Local Government Areas in the state. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss strategies to address security challenges and safeguard the lives and property of residents across all regions of the state.

The Governor acknowledged the significant achievements of the current security framework in the state in combating violent crimes.

He emphasized the importance of maintaining these efforts to ensure lasting peace and stability in Kogi State.

Governor Ododo highlighted the successful initiatives implemented by his predecessor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, in curbing insecurity.

He stressed the necessity of prioritizing the security of citizens and their belongings, emphasizing the need to build upon the progress made thus far.

Security remains the top priority for the government, as stated by Governor Ododo,  while assuring that his administration will spare no effort in safeguarding the lives and property of the people of Kogi State.

The Governor reiterated his unwavering commitment to security during the meeting with local government chairmen, emphasizing the non-negotiable nature of protecting every corner of Kogi State.

He urged the council leaders to intensify their efforts in securing all communities within their jurisdictions and maintain close communication with residents, who serve as vital sources of intelligence gathering for security purposes.
