The Kogi State Government has allocated funds for the continuous training of Information Officers across various ministries.

During a workshop on capacity building organized by the Ministry of Information and Communication in Lokoja, Commissioner Kingsley Fanwo announced this initiative on Monday. The workshop aimed to enhance the skills of Information Officers working in ministries, departments, and government agencies.

Fanwo emphasized the importance of equipping Information Officers to effectively carry out their duties, highlighting the significant investment the government has made in the information sector.

He stressed that the training workshop would play a crucial role in combating the spread of fake news, which can have detrimental effects on society. By providing Information Officers with the necessary tools and knowledge, the government aims to ensure accurate and timely dissemination of information about its policies and programs.

Fanwo expressed gratitude to Governor Alhaji Usman Ododo for his unwavering commitment to the information sector. He commended the Governor for prioritizing the training of Information Officers and ensuring they are well-equipped to represent Kogi State professionally and effectively.

The Commissioner also acknowledged Governor Ododo’s efforts in revitalizing neglected sectors within the state and fostering an environment where the voices of the people are heard.
