The Kogi State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abdulazeez Adams Adeiza, has charged health-related Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to translate performance review resolutions into concrete actions capable of improving healthcare delivery across the state.

Adeiza gave the charge during the Third Quarter 2026 Health Sector Performance Dialogue organised by the Kogi State Ministry of Health to assess progress, identify implementation gaps and strengthen accountability in the state’s health system.

The dialogue brought together Chief Executive Officers of health-related MDAs, directors, heads of departments, programme officers, development partners and other key stakeholders to review performance against established indicators and agree on measures to address outstanding challenges.

Presentations of performance scorecards by various MDAs and programmes featured prominently at the meeting, providing an opportunity to assess achievements, outstanding targets and areas requiring corrective interventions.

Speaking at the event, Adeiza described the dialogue as a demonstration of stakeholders’ collective commitment to accountability, transparency and measurable results in the health sector.

He commended the MDAs, programme officers and development partners for their dedication, particularly the quality of presentations made during the review, which he said provided a clear picture of progress, existing gaps and areas requiring improved performance.

“Today’s Q3 2026 Performance Dialogue underscores our collective commitment to accountability, transparency and results in the Kogi health sector.

“I appreciate the dedication of all MDAs, programme officers and development partners, and I commend the excellent presentation of the scorecards, which has clearly shown us where we are, what gaps remain, and what we must do differently,” he said.

The Commissioner urged stakeholders to ensure that the resolutions reached at the meeting were implemented, stressing the need for renewed commitment as the state moves into the fourth quarter of the year.

“As we move into Q4, I urge us all to translate these deliberations and resolutions into concrete actions that improve service delivery and advance our health agenda for the people of Kogi State,” he added.

The SWAp Desk Officer, Dr. Bola Emmanuel Jonah Kelvin, explained that the quarterly performance dialogue was part of the state government’s efforts to institutionalise evidence-based planning, promote effective resource utilisation and improve service delivery through regular monitoring and evaluation of health sector interventions.

The engagement also underscored Kogi State’s commitment to advancing the Sector-Wide Approach (SWAp), strengthening health system accountability and accelerating progress towards Universal Health Coverage (UHC).

The Ministry reaffirmed its resolve to sustain collaboration among health sector stakeholders and ensure that policy commitments, programme investments and agreed interventions translate into measurable improvements in the health and wellbeing of residents.
