In a message, Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo announced that sports and youth development will receive the necessary attention and support in the year 2025.
Speaking to the press, the State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Honorable Aridaojo Monday Anyebe, outlined the plans for sports and youth development under Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s administration this year. He emphasized the administration’s passion for youth and sporting development in the state.
Honorable Anyebe stated that sports will be a priority, with full support provided to ensure the progress and growth of sporting activities in Kogi State. He also mentioned plans to upgrade the Confluence Stadium in Lokoja to international standards.
Stakeholders in the sports sector will be involved in achieving these goals, with sports competitions planned in the three senatorial districts to promote grassroots sporting activities. The Commissioner praised the Kogi Sports Council for their success in winning gold medals last year and promised continued support for their endeavors.
Regarding Handball, efforts are underway to enhance Handball
ball activities in the state through improvements at the Kogi State Sports Center. In terms of youth development, programs are being developed to ensure the growth and empowerment of young people in Kogi State.
Overall, Governor Ododo’s administration is committed to promoting sports and youth development in Kogi State, with a focus on excellence and inclusivity.
According to the Hon Commissioner stakeholders in the sports sector will be carrying along to ensuring the plan for all this will be achieved.
Hon Aridaojo Monday Anyebe said sports competition will be considered in the Three Senatorial District for grassroots sporting activities in the state as plan of the year.
The Commissioner said Last Year kogi Sports council did well by Wining Gold Medals in the various sporting activities across the country,saying more support will be given to them this year to do better.
On the handball game in the state the Commissioner said model standard cut work is going on at the kogi State Sports center towards enhancing handball activities in the state.
On the youth development Hon Aridaojo Monday Anyebe said Programmes of activities is line up towards ensuring the progress and growth of emancipation of Youth in the state.
The Commissioner said the present Government under Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo is committed and dedicated to the progress of the state especially Youth and Sports Development.
Hon Aridaojo Monday Anyebe called on the sports lovers and Youth development to join hands with the Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo to develop the sporting activities and Youth development.
He said Government alone can not do everything at the same saying it’s needs collective efforts by all and enjoined the support of the people in the state.
The Commissioner charged staff and management of the Ministry to rededicate their efforts by putting more zeal towards the progress and growth of sporting and Youth development in the state.
The Commissioner assured the people of the state of the present administration commitment in enhancing activities of the Ministry for the betterment of the state.
Hon Aridaojo Monday Anyebe commended the state Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for his efforts and support for the Ministry so far described it as well impressive.
The Commissioner assured the Governor of his loyalty and commitment to the growth of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development and appealed for the support all in the state.
