Kogi State Commissioner for Education, Hon. Wemi Jones, has emphasized the importance of teamwork and cooperation within the Governing Council and Management of Kogi State University Kabba for the advancement and prosperity of the institution.
During a courtesy visit by the University’s Governing Council, led by the Chairman Professor Suleiman Sadiku O.E, Hon. Wemi Jones stressed the significance of collective effort in ensuring the growth and development of Kogi State University Kabba.
He acknowledged the establishment of the university as a permanent fixture in the state, but highlighted the necessity for unwavering dedication and commitment from all Council Members and the Management Team to facilitate rapid progress.
Hon. Wemi Jones assured the Council of the government’s dedication to providing adequate funding for the institution’s growth and development under the leadership of Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.
He encouraged the Council to explore innovative initiatives that would promote self-sustainability within the university and contribute to the economic advancement of the region.
Emphasizing the potential for rapid expansion and progress, Hon. Wemi Jones urged the Council to take proactive measures to propel the university towards greater success.
He expressed gratitude to former Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello for his vision in establishing the university and commended current Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for continuing to prioritize education funding.
Hon. Wemi Jones highlighted the significant financial investment made by the government in securing the university campuses, including the perimeter fencing of the 100 hectares of land at the Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara, Kogi State University Kabba, and other higher institutions through the installation of high-tech security cameras.
Speaking, the Chairman of the Governing Council of Kogi State University kabba, Professor. Suleiman O E Sadiku appreciated the Governor for his commitment to Educate and for Constituting a profile Governing Council to run the University.
He stated that the establishment of two State Universities in the space of four years was unprecedented in the history of Nigeria, adding that Kogi State University kabba was established to unite the people of Kogi state.
Professor Suleiman thanked the Commissioner for his resilient and commitment towards making sure that Kogi State University kabba came to fruition, saying that history would live to appreciate his efforts.
In his remarks, the Vice Chancellor, Kogi State University kabba, Professor. K I .T Eniola reaffirmed the commitment of the University Management to the fulfillment of the ideals behind the establishment of the University, promising that everything would be done to maintain high standard of Education.
He employed the Commissioner to extend their appreciation to the Governor for his efforts towards the growth and development of the University
