Governor Ododo Remains Committed to Information Sector, Says Fanwo as Radio Kogi Marks 35 Years

Kingsley Femi Fanwo, has reaffirmed the commitment of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to the growth and development of the state's information sector, describing Radio Kogi as a vital institution that continues to serve as the voice of government and the people across the state. The Commissioner stated this while receiving the Director-General of the Kogi State Broadcasting Corporation, Princess Nana Hauwa Yussuff, in his office in Lokoja during a courtesy visit to brief him on the activities lined up to commemorate the 35th anniversary of Radio Kogi. Fanwo described the milestone as a celebration of dedication, professionalism, and quality service spanning over three decades. According to him, "Celebrating the 35th anniversary of the station is well deserved. It is the right time to celebrate because we have a governor who is deeply committed to the information sector, especially broadcasting. As you are aware, we are already working on plans to give the corporation's headquarters a facelift. We are also working towards establishing a new station in Okene. Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo remains committed to these and many other initiatives aimed at strengthening the broadcasting sector." The Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. The Commissioner stated this while receiving the Director-General of the Kogi State Broadcasting Corporation, Princess Nana Hauwa Yussuff, in his office in Lokoja during a courtesy visit to brief him on the activities lined up to commemorate the 35th anniversary of Radio Kogi.

He disclosed that the 35th anniversary celebration would feature awards to deserving Kogites in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the development of the state. According to him, the awards are intended to inspire excellence and encourage greater service to humanity. He assured the corporation of the ministry’s full support to ensure a successful celebration.

Earlier, the Director General of the Kogi State Broadcasting Corporation, Princess Nana Hauwa Yussuff, expressed appreciation to the Commissioner for his unwavering support for the corporation.

She described Radio Kogi as the voice of the state and its people, noting that the station has served the citizens diligently for 35 years.

She said the anniversary provides an opportunity to celebrate the station’s achievements and seek renewed commitment towards strengthening public broadcasting in the state.

Princess Yussuff also appealed for the continued support and collaboration of the Ministry of Information and Communications to ensure a memorable and successful anniversary celebration.
