Sets Up Committee, Aligns with National Digital Health Reform Agenda By Rotimi Odofin LOKOJA – The Kogi State Government has taken a major step towards transforming healthcare delivery with the inauguration of the State Digital Health Architecture Committee, signaling the commencement of the adoption and domestication of the Nigeria Digital Health Architecture (NDHA). The initiative is aimed at modernising the state's health system through digital technology, strengthening health information management, improving service delivery, and accelerating the achievement of Universal Health Coverage (UHC). Inaugurating the committee at the Confluence Hall of Kogi State Specialist Hospital in Lokoja, yesterday 7th July 2026, The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abdulazeez Adams Adeiza, described the adoption of the National Digital Health Architecture as a critical component of Nigeria's ongoing health sector reforms. He explained that the initiative aligns with the Nigeria Health Sector Renewal Investment Initiative (NHSRII), launched in December 2023 following the adoption of the Sector-Wide Approach (SWAp), a framework designed to promote coordinated planning, financing, and implementation of healthcare programmes across the country. According to the Commissioner, the Federal Government established the Nigeria Digital Health Initiative (NDHI) to drive digital transformation within the health sector, while the National Digital Health Architecture provides a unified framework for integrating digital health systems across all states and local government areas.
