Kogi Works Commissioner Leads Inspection Tour of Lokoja Ultra-Modern International Market Project.

As part of the Kogi State Government’s commitment to delivering quality infrastructure and ensuring strict compliance with approved construction standards, the Commissioner for Works, Hon. Barr. Abdulsalami Ozigi Deedat alongside his colleagues, The Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Hon. Muhammed Muktar, Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Abanika Taiye, and other senior engineers and builders from various sectors with the contractor(SABC Construction Limited) conducted an inspection tour of the ongoing Lokoja Ultra-Modern Market project on Thursday 18th June 2026.

The visit was aimed at assessing the level of work completed and ensuring that the contractor handling the project is fully adhering to the specifications, rules, and regulations established by the Kogi State Government.

During the inspection, the Commissioner emphasized that the administration remains committed to transparency, accountability, and quality service delivery. He noted that regular monitoring of strategic projects across the state is essential to guarantee that contractors meet agreed standards and complete projects within the stipulated timeframe.

Hon. Barr. Deedat further stressed that the Lokoja international Ultra-Modern Market along Crushier road is a flagship project designed to boost commercial activities, provide a conducive environment for traders, and stimulate economic growth within the state. He therefore urged the contractor to maintain professionalism, uphold safety standards, and ensure that all aspects of the construction align with government specifications.

The Lokoja international Ultra-Modern Market project, when Completed would have a road road network of 8KM of 17 different Sections, and also it would have a Bank, Clinic, Fire service, warehouses, lockup shops, Home and furniture Stores, Fashion and Clothing Stores, Electronic shops, and Thousands of Businesses and Business Owners
