Members of the State Grievance Redress Committee have been urged to discharge their duties with integrity, neutrality, professionalism and dedication. The Commissioner, Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon Acharu Okpanachi gave the advice at the inauguration of the committee in Lokoja. The Commissioner who was represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mrs. Bilkisu. K. Raji noted that this was important as it will reflect the aspirations of the women and communities they serve. Hon Acharu Okpanachi said the Grievance Redress Committee is a critical structure within the process stressing that the inauguration demonstrates the collective resolve that every concern, complaint, feedback or conflict arising from project implementation will be handled fairly, promptly, confidentially and with respect for human dignity. She noted that Kogi State government under the leadership of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo remains committed to creating an enabling environment for the successful implementation of NFWP-SU and ensuring women across the state benefit meaningfully from the intervention. Earlier, the team lead, SPC, Dr. Esther Amehadaji, said implementation for the Nigeria for Women Project has begun in three Local Government Areas, Okene, Yagba-East and Dekina with the hope that soonest, government will give approval for entrance into three more local government Areas, Ofu, Lokoja and Adavi Local government Areas. The Committee has Dr. Esther Ameadaji as Chairperson, Dr. Umar Odekina as Secretary while the Public Relations Officer is Mary Otonoku-Okamanyi.
