CAN Applauds Gov. Ododo’s Inclusive Leadership, Massive Development Drive in Kogi

The commendation came on Thursday during a high-level courtesy visit by the leadership of CAN to the Governor at the Government House, Lokoja, where the association reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening collaboration with the state government in the interest of peace, unity and sustainable development. The delegation, led by the State Chairman of CAN, comprised leaders of the five major blocs of the Christian body as well as the 21 Local Government Chairmen of the association across Kogi State. Speaking during the engagement, Chairman of the Forum of Special Advisers, Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi, who facilitated the visit, commended Governor Ododo for operating an open-door administration that has made government more accessible and responsive to the needs of the people. According to him, the Governor’s leadership style has significantly deepened public confidence in government, strengthened citizens’ participation and enhanced constructive engagement between the administration and critical stakeholders across the state. The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has showered praises on the administration of Ahmed Usman Ododo for what it described as a transformational, inclusive and people-focused style of governance that is steadily redefining leadership and development in Kogi State.

The commendation came on Thursday during a high-level courtesy visit by the leadership of CAN to the Governor at the Government House, Lokoja, where the association reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening collaboration with the state government in the interest of peace, unity and sustainable development.

The delegation, led by the State Chairman of CAN, comprised leaders of the five major blocs of the Christian body as well as the 21 Local Government Chairmen of the association across Kogi State.

Speaking during the engagement, Chairman of the Forum of Special Advisers, Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi, who facilitated the visit, commended Governor Ododo for operating an open-door administration that has made government more accessible and responsive to the needs of the people.
According to him, the Governor’s leadership style has significantly deepened public confidence in government, strengthened citizens’ participation and enhanced constructive engagement between the administration and critical stakeholders across the state.

In his remarks, the CAN Chairman applauded the Ododo administration for its numerous achievements and commitment to equitable governance, particularly in areas affecting the welfare of the people.
He specifically cited government support for Christian activities, the ongoing renovation and construction of 628 public schools, prompt and regular payment of salaries, tax relief initiatives for civil servants, and the construction of 110 cottage hospitals across the state as clear indicators of purposeful leadership.

The Christian body also hailed the ongoing development of the Kogi International Airport and other strategic infrastructural projects, describing them as bold steps toward accelerating economic growth and improving the living conditions of the people.

CAN noted that the administration’s policies and programmes have continued to reflect fairness, inclusiveness and genuine concern for the wellbeing of all residents irrespective of religious or political affiliations.

Responding, Governor Ododo expressed appreciation to the Christian community for its prayers, support and peaceful disposition, stressing that the unity and harmony enjoyed in Kogi State remain critical to the state’s steady progress.

The Governor commended Christians in the state for their commitment to peaceful coexistence, respect for constituted authority and contributions to the growth and stability of Kogi State.
He assured the delegation that the concerns and requests presented during the visit would receive prompt attention, reiterating his administration’s resolve to sustain policies and programmes that promote unity, development and prosperity for all Kogites.
