The landmark gesture, designed to boost the mobility, morale, and competitive edge of the state-owned female football team, was delivered on behalf of the Governor by the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Evangelist Kingsley Fanwo. Speaking during the handover ceremony, Fanwo acknowledged the challenges confronting football clubs across the country, assuring that the Kogi State Government is deliberate about addressing the specific needs of Confluence Queens FC. He emphasized that the present administration, driven by a passion for sports development, is committed to repositioning the sector for excellence and sustainability. “We are aware of your challenges, and we are working to address them. Sometimes, setbacks like relegation are meant to inspire a stronger comeback. You must remain focused and determined because this team belongs at the top,” he said. Fanwo further urged the players to remain patient, disciplined, and committed, while assuring them that their welfare concerns—including improved camping facilities and better remuneration—are receiving due attention.
