Hon. Kingsley Femi Fanwo is a governance strategist, public communication expert, and policy advocate currently serving as the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kogi State, Nigeria. With a career spanning journalism, public administration, and strategic government messaging, he has become known for shaping public narratives, strengthening citizen trust, and promoting transparent, accountable governance.

Born on December 28, 1976, he hails from Takete Ide Amuro in Mopamuro Local Government Area of Kogi State. His life and career reflect a consistent commitment to intellectual growth, leadership excellence, and community development.

Academic Background

Hon. Fanwo began his education at the former OLSMB Primary School, Iluke Bunu, and proceeded to Government Secondary School, Iluke Bunu, where he earned his Secondary School Certificate.

He holds:
– National Certificate in Education (NCE) in English Language from the National Teachers’ Institute
– LL.B from Salem University, Lokoja
– M.Sc in Criminology and Security Studies from Salem University, Lokoja
– Currently a Doctoral candidate in Forensic Criminology at Salem University

His academic pursuits reflect a deep interest in justice systems, security governance, and the intersection of communication and public policy.

Public Service & Leadership

Hon. Fanwo has served in several strategic communication and governance roles in Kogi State, including:

– Chief Press Secretary to the Governor
– Director General, Media and Publicity
– Special Adviser on Information and Communications Strategy

His early career in journalism, including professional work with Vanguard Newspapers, provided the foundation for his expertise in public communication. He has made over 500 television appearances, engaging national audiences on governance, policy reforms, and development issues.

In his current role as Commissioner for Information and Communications, he serves as:
– Member, Kogi State Executive Council
– Chairman, Kogi State Council of Information
– Member, National Council on Information, representing Kogi State

He is widely respected for his strategic messaging, policy advocacy, and ability to communicate government reforms with clarity, credibility, and conviction.

In recognition of his contributions to community development, cultural preservation, and grassroots leadership, Hon. Fanwo holds several traditional titles, including:
