In a decisive move, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has ordered a 4PM shutdown of all worship and public centers across Kogi State, as part of a bold and far-reaching security blueprint to tackle rising insecurity in the state.

The announcement came after a high-level Peace and Security Council meeting at the Government House in Lokoja, where Ododo vowed to take tough measures to curb rising security concerns in the state.

“Any centre hosting events beyond the approved time faces possible punishment” Ododo warned, as he expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his swift intervention in recent kidnappings.

The Governor outlined a 10-point security action plan, including enhanced intelligence and surveillance, full profiling of all mining operations, and strengthened joint security operations.

Traditional rulers and security agencies have pledged their full cooperation, with the Ohinoyi of Ebira, His Royal Majesty Dr. Ahmed Tijani Muhammed Anaje, praising the administration’s leadership and calling for stronger community cooperation.
