The Permanent Secretary of Kogi State Ministry of Information and communications, Mr Idoko Eleojo Celestine, mni has charged staff of the Parastatals under the Ministry to remain committed, diligent and professional in the discharge of their official duties.
Mr Idoko gave the charge on Tuesday during a working visit to Kogi State Broadcasting Corporation, Kogi State Newspaper Corporation (The Graphic), and the Kogi State Government Printing Press in Lokoja.
The Permanent Secretary who was in company of the Technical Assistant to the Ministry, Mr Ebenezar Adurodija urged them not to remain stagnant, but keep developing themselves by going for higher courses in order to remain relevant and sustain global competence for transformative development of the state.
The New Permanent Secretary stated that the visit was to familiarize with the Parastatals and Agencies under the Ministry with a view to getting first-hand information about their activities.
Speaking at The Radio Kogi, The Graphic, and Government Printing Press, Mr Celestine commended the Director General, Managing Director/CEO, Head of Printing and the Management staff respectively for their unwavering commitment to ensuring adequate, accurate and timely information dissemination to the citizens down to the grassroots.
He urged them to continue to project the image of state and the Chief Servant, the Executive Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo positively, stressing that the Chief Servant is doing a lot and the world must hear and read about his tireless efforts in bringing transformative development to the state.
He urged the citizens to continue to pray for Governor Ododo, stressing that it was one of the ways to support him.
“Your reportage has been very wonderful. The targeted audience down to the grassroots gets proper enlightenment on government policies, programmes, and activities, as the laudable achievements of the Chief Servant of the state have been projected. The world is aware of what the Kogi State Government is doing. Honestly, his two years’ reign so far is more than eight years.” the Permanent Secretary stated.
Also speaking, the Technical Assistant to the Ministry, Mr Ebenezer Adurodija also urged the Agencies and unit to continue to collaborate with the office, be dutiful and proactive, reassuring them that the Head Office would give necessary support through the political will of the Commissioner, Hon. Kingsley Femi Fanwo.
He emphasized on the importance of technology, requesting for the digitalisation of the activities of the Agencies.
In their various remarks, the DG, Princess Nana-Hauwa Yussuff, the MD/CEO, Mr YJ Itopa, the Head of Printing, Mr Idris Shaibu expressed appreciation to Governor Ododo for taking the welfare of the workers a top priority, as well as ensuring infrastructural development across the state.
They also applauded the Commissioner of the Ministry, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo for his leadership style that had brought unity and development and thanked the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry and Technical Assistant to Ministry for their visit.
