Hon. Adams Adabenege has applauded the leadership approach of Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, describing it as the major force behind the state’s growing political rebirth, inclusive governance, and renewed unity.
In a statement on Tuesday, Adabenege noted that since Governor Ododo assumed office, Kogi has witnessed “a new wave of political consciousness built on fairness, accessibility, and a sincere commitment to the welfare of the people.” He said the governor’s leadership style—defined by humility, openness, and deliberate engagement—has significantly reduced political tension and increased citizens’ confidence in government.
According to him, Governor Ododo’s emphasis on consultation and transparency has helped foster peace across the three senatorial districts, consolidating the gains of democratic governance in the state. “The governor’s uncommon leadership style is not just transforming the administrative landscape; it is bringing people together, removing long-standing barriers, and redefining what political unity means in Kogi State,” he said.
Adabenege highlighted several recent initiatives, including the administration’s reforms in security, infrastructure, youth empowerment, and public service, which he said are strengthening trust between government and the governed.
He further stated that Governor Ododo has maintained continuity of good policies while also introducing fresh ideas that reflect the aspirations of the people. This blend of innovation and respect for institutional stability, he argued, has created a rebirth in the political culture of the state—where collaboration takes precedence over division.
Little wonder, in a historic turn of event, on Monday 17th November 2025, the Governor received the former governor of Kogi State Capt Idris Ichala Wada into the renewed hope movement with a host of others at the Muhammadu Buhari Square.
Capt Wada highlighted the humility, development drive and all encompassing leadership style of Ododo as a driving force for his decision.
He urged political actors, stakeholders, and citizens to continue supporting the governor’s agenda, stressing that sustained unity and progress can only be achieved when all hands are on deck.
“Kogi State is experiencing a new chapter,” Adabenege said. “What we are witnessing today is the result of purposeful leadership—one that prioritizes unity, accountability, and the stability of our shared future.”
The statement concluded with a call for residents to remain optimistic, as the Ododo-led administration continues to implement programmes aimed at strengthening development and harmony across the state.
