Recently, Ambassador Hamza Lawal paid a visit to the Kogi State College of Nursing Sciences, Obangede, where he generously donated sanitary pads and writing materials to female students of the institution.
The Provost of the college, Mr. James Duro Anaza Joseph, warmly received Ambassador Lawal and his team. In his welcome address, the Provost expressed profound gratitude to the Ambassador for choosing the college as the first beneficiary of this kind gesture. He lauded Ambassador Lawal’s initiative, which directly supports the welfare of students, particularly young women. The Provost also used the opportunity to request further assistance for the development of the college.
In his remarks, Ambassador Hamza Lawal — a distinguished son of Ebira land — thanked the Provost and the college community for the warm reception. He stated that the donation initiative stemmed from a deep concern for students from low-income backgrounds who struggle to afford basic hygiene products. He emphasized that maintaining good hygiene is essential for health and dignity, especially among female students.
Ambassador Lawal assured the college that this is just the beginning of more interventions to come, pledging to return with more initiatives aimed at putting smiles on the faces of students.
Also speaking at the event, Honourable Ajanah and some dignitries from Okehi local government Area commended the Ambassador for remembering the college and contributing positively to its growth. He prayed that this would mark the beginning of more good things for the institution.
A member of Ambassador Lawal’s team conducted a brief presentation on the proper use of sanitary pads, which was officially handed over to the Provost, Mr. James Duro Anaza Joseph.
The students expressed joy and heartfelt appreciation to Ambassador Lawal for his thoughtfulness and support.
The event was honoured by the presence of the Personal Assistant (PA) to the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and social Development Hajia Fatimah Momoh who delivered an inspiring goodwill message. In her remarks, the PA commended Ambassador Hazmat for his dedication and remarkable contributions toward the success of the programme.
She also took the opportunity to express her profound appreciation to the Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for fostering a peaceful and secure environment conducive to teaching and learning across all schools in the state. According to her, the governor’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of students has created a positive atmosphere that encourages academic excellence and growth.
Furthermore, the PA extended heartfelt gratitude to the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs, describing her as not just a leader but also a true mother to all. She praised the commissioner’s tireless efforts in advocating for women, children, and students in the state, highlighting her exemplary leadership qualities, compassion, and dedication to uplifting society.
