The Kogi State Government has reached a significant milestone in its efforts to enhance health outcomes with the official launch of its 2025 Annual Operational Plan (AOP). The unveiling ceremony, held at the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Conference Room of the Kogi State Ministry of Health, convened key stakeholders, partners, and health sector experts.

In his address, the Honorable Commissioner for Health, Dr Abdulazeez Adams Adeiza commended the collaborative efforts that led to the development and dissemination of the AOP. He urged all stakeholders to remain committed to achieving the state’s health objectives. “We are proud to have reached this milestone, and we look forward to working together to implement the plan and deliver tangible results for the people of Kogi State,” he stated.

Mr. Johnson Aiyedogbon, the Director of Health Planning, Research, and Statistics, acknowledged the invaluable contributions of stakeholders in the AOP’s development. He emphasized the significance of the printed format of the plan, despite the earlier distribution of digital copies.

Dr. Emmanuel Bola Jonah, the SWAp Desk Officer, recognized the Honorable Commissioner’s leadership in facilitating a successful process and called for continued collaboration among all key stakeholders to achieve meaningful outcomes for the state.

Representatives from the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF, and the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) expressed their commitment to supporting the effective implementation of the plan. The WHO State Coordinator underscored the plan’s critical role in fostering positive advancements within the health sector.

In his closing remarks, Dr. Musa Muazu Omeiza, Executive Director of the Kogi State Primary Health Care Development Agency, highlighted the advantages of unity and teamwork in achieving the state’s health goals.

The meeting concluded with a group photograph, symbolizing the collective dedication to advancing the health sector in Kogi State. With the 2025 AOP now established,
Kogi State is poised to make significant strides in improving health outcomes and delivering quality healthcare services to its citizens.
