Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Retired Major Joe Ajayi in Odo-Ape, Kabba Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State.
Rtd Major Ajayi tragically died in kidnappers’ den despite a N10 million ransom payment after being abducted from his residence on May 21, 2025.
The state government has assured residents of its dedication to tackling banditry, warned politicians to refrain from playing with people’s lives .
While Inspecting Security personnel, the Kabba/Bunu LGA Chairman Hon. Barr Zaachaeous Dare thanked Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his commitment to the security of lives and property in the state, he also vowed to work with the state government to hunt down the perpetrators of this crime, ensuring that such incidents do not recur in the area.
The Governor warned Traditional Rullers to desist from Giving their land to Criminal elements as such is the only way to curb challenges of insecurity in the state.
Recall that Kogi State government, in collaboration with various security agencies, has apprehended 26 individuals suspected of involvement in kidnapping and related activities. This operation took place in the Bunu Forest area of Kabba-Bunu Local Government recently.
