Kogi State contingents at the National sports festival charged to be good ambassador of the state during and after the event.
Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo gave the charged while addressing the athletes and officials during the opening ceremony of the Twenty second edition of Ogun Gateway games festival at the Moshood Kasmawo Abiola (MKO) Stadium in Ogun state .
Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo advised the athletes and officials to make Kogi State proud at the ongoing National sports festival by winning medals.
The Governor said his administration is totally committed to giving the sports sector in the state Accord attention.
Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo said his coming to Ogun state for National sports festival was show the athletes and officials of his passion for sporting activities saying all necessary support towards the progress and growth of sporting activities in kogi State will given .
The Governor charged athletes to go for the games in good spirits and come out with good result that will make Kogi State proud.
Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo commended the host State especially his countarpart Governor of Ogun state Prince Dapo Abiodun for his hospitality to host the event describing it as impressive.
Governor Ododo also commended his Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development Hon Aridaojo Monday Anyebe for leading the athletes and officials to Ogun Gateway game festival saying his government will not relent in supporting the ministry of youth and sports development.
Speaking, the Kogi State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development Hon Aridaojo Monday Anyebe assured Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and the people of Kogi State by coming home with Victory after the tournament.
Hon Aridaojo Monday Anyebe said all the necessary arrangement was put in to ensure the success of the event especially the welfare of Athlete’s and officials and espressed appreciation to the Governor for ensuring that Kogi State participate in the ongoing National sports festival.
The Commissioner urged contingents tobe well behave by not involving themselves in any act that will affect the good image of Kogi State during and after their stay at the festival.
Speaking on behalf of the contingent the Director Kogi State sports Council Mr. Akowe Adejo promise to be good ambassador of the state and come out with good result.
