The Executive Governor of Kogi State was honored with a prestigious award for being a workers’ friendly leader and for implementing the N72,500 minimum wage.
The award was presented today 01-05-2025 May Day, at the President Muhammed Buhari Civic Centre in Lokoja.
The award was given by Comrade Gabriel Amari, the State Chairman of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), on behalf of the NLC and the Kogi State Council of Organised Labour.
Comrade Amari in his words “it is imperative we use this occasion once again to acknowledge and appreciate the giant strides of the administration of His Excellency, Alh Ahmed Usman Ododo since the assumption of office that has practically touched all facets of the economy . Fellow comrades, permit me to appreciate His Excellency Alh Ahmed Usman Ododo specifically on prompt payment of salary, implementation of National Minimum wage, Harmonization of Pension, Training and Retraining of workers and the appointment of Labour Leaders in the present administration” he said
The award which was presented by the Deputy Governor revealed the delivery of the dividends of Democracy to the people of the State.
Governor Ododo while receiving the award thank the Almighty God and appreciated his Team.
He also appreciated the Organized Labour for the presentation of the award and that the award would encourage him to do more for the development of the State and the benefit of our people
This recognition highlights the Governor’s commitment to the welfare of workers in the state. The implementation of the new minimum wage has been a significant boost to the standard of living of workers in Kogi State.
The award serves as an indicator that the Governor is genuinely fostering a positive relationship with workers and promoting their well-being.
