The Kogi State Government, led by His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, FCA, today hosted the Renewed Hope Initiative Food Outreach at the Glass House of Government House, Lokoja.
The event was flagged off by Her Excellency, Hajiya Nana Shettima, wife of the Vice President, representing the First Lady of Nigeria, Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON.
In her welcome address, the wife of the Governor of Kogi State, appreciated the wife of the Vice President for gracing the occasion.
In her words, “It is a great opportunity standing here today to welcome the wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu represented by the wife of the Vice President Hajiya Nana Shettima who is here to renew the hope of the poor amongst us in Kogi State and to extend a helping hand to those who are in need”
She promised her unwavering support to the programmes and policies of the Federal Government.
Governor Ododo, in his remarks, thanked President Tinubu for the initiative and promised that the food items would be distributed to the targeted beneficiaries, which include vulnerable individuals and people with disabilities. He also assured the President of 100% support from the people of Kogi State in the 2027 elections.
Her Excellency, Hajiya Nana Shettima, commended the women and youths of Kogi State for their enthusiasm and warned that the food items should be distributed to the intended beneficiaries, emphasizing the importance of transparency and accountability.
The Renewed Hope Initiative Food Outreach is part of the Federal Government’s efforts to alleviate poverty and hunger in the country. The event was attended by top government officials, traditional rulers, and other stakeholders.
