The Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Femi Fanwo has called upon students and youths to embody effectiveness, diligence, and patriotism in all their endeavors.
Hon. Fanwo made this passionate appeal during a meeting with the President and other executive members of the Federation of Yagba Students at his office today.
“I want to thank you for your unwavering commitment to ensuring the success of our foremost Students Association in Yagba,” he remarked. “It is crucial that we empower our students to excel. They are no longer just the leaders of tomorrow; they are leaders today. The manner in which we mentor and guide them will shape their effectiveness and patriotism in the future. Therefore, supporting such associations is not only important but imperative.”
He pledged to engage other political appointees and elected officials in Yagba to provide comprehensive support for the association, ensuring it grows and serves as a voice for the community. Hon. Fanwo encouraged the executive members to take the lead in all their initiatives.
Additionally, he urged them to remain vigilant about government actions and to understand the government’s direction, as this awareness will benefit not only them but everyone in the community. He highlighted Governor Ododo’s steadfast commitment to human capital and infrastructural development, urging the youth to continue supporting the governor’s initiatives.
Speaking about the Representative of the Yagba Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Elder Leke Abejide, Hon. Fanwo praised him as a dynamic, progressive individual dedicated to human and infrastructural development. He expressed confidence that Elder Leke would soon align with the All Progressives Congress, and he called on the people of Yagba to rally around him with the necessary support. “No assembly member in Yagba has achieved half of what Elder Leke has accomplished,” he asserted.
Hon. Fanwo further encouraged the Federation of Yagba Students to support Elder Leke, describing him as a dedicated proponent of development who should not be disheartened in his political journey. He emphasized the importance of the association’s tenure, urging them to focus on initiatives that positively impact students and the broader Yagba
The President of the association, Comrade Hassan Oluwasegun Sherifdeen, expressed his appreciation to Hon. Fanwo for granting them an audience. He described him as a vibrant and compassionate leader who genuinely cares for students and youth.
Comrade Hassan reiterated the Executive Committee’s unwavering commitment to advancing the association despite facing some challenges in the past. He also urged Hon. Fanwo to continue his valuable support.
