ROAD CRASH: MINISTRY OF TRANSPORTATION EXTENDS SINCERE CONDOLENCES TO FAMILIES OF ACCIDENT VICTIMS
The Honorable Commissioner for Transportation, Atuluku Victor Levi, wishes to express his deepest condolences to the families of the victims involved in the tragic road crash that occurred yesterday at Felele in Lokoja. This unfortunate incident resulted in the loss of lives and left several others critically injured.
In a statement issued through the Public Relations Officer of the ministry, Commissioner Levi acknowledged the immense pain and suffering that the families are currently enduring as a result of this unforeseen tragedy. He emphasized the urgent need to collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure order, safety, and sanity on our roads, particularly in high-risk areas.
Commissioner Levi also highlighted that His Excellency, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, has promptly instructed the Ministry of Transportation, State Security Adviser, and other key stakeholders to work closely with relevant agencies to establish measures for regulating the movement of heavy trucks on major roads.
The Statement also commended the security personnel, Sarniams Concepts Fleet Management Limited and State Taskforce, for their swift intervention to rescue victims, call students to order & discongest gridlock caused by the accident
The State Commissioner for transport urges all road users to exercise caution to prevent similar heartbreaking incidents from reoccurring. Additionally, I appeal to students to remain calm and refrain from engaging in any form of protest, as the State Government is actively addressing the situation.
