The Administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododos is taking significant steps towards implementing an ambitious plan to transforms the urban landscape of Kogi State.

The Governor has recently unveiled a comprehensive five-year strategic plan aimed at modernizing the state and turning it into a green, resilient smart city.

This bold move, announced by the Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Abanika Taiye, in Lokoja, is in alignment with the state government’s vision and the 32-year development plan initiated by former Governor Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello.

Hon. Abanika emphasized that the Ministry’s blueprint lays the groundwork for urban excellence, ensuring progressive urban transformation. Collaboration with opinion leaders, policymakers, community developers, and stakeholders is crucial to achieving successful urban renewal and regeneration.

The Commissioner for Education, Hon. Wemi Jones, highlighted the importance of housing development in providing quality education, as every child returns home after school.
