Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State has paid his respects to the late former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja, by attending his funeral at the National Christian Centre in Abuja today November 15, 2024.
Represented by his Deputy Governor Comrade Joel Salifu, Governor Ododo expressed his heartfelt condolences and prayed for the deceased to find eternal rest.
The funeral ceremony was also attended by various dignitaries, including the President’s wife Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Ministers, Senators, senior military officials, friends, family, associates, government officials, and members of the diplomatic corps.
Lt. General Lagbaja served as Chief of Army Staff from June 2023 until his passing on November 5, 2024, at the age of 56, following a brief illness. He was laid to rest at the National Military Cemetery in Abuja, leaving behind his wife, children, and relatives.
Deputy Governor Comrade Joel was accompanied by the Director General of Kogi State Community Watch and Ancillary Matters, Hon. Muhammed Nasiru Alfa, as they paid their respects to the late Chief of Army Staff.
