In a recent meeting with Kogi East Local Government Leaders at Ejule, Kogi State, His Excellency Comrade Joel Salifu, the Deputy Governor of Kogi State, emphasized the importance of humility and an open-door policy for Council Chairmen, Vice Chairpersons, and legislative council leaders in carrying out their responsibilities.

Comrade Joel, on the 7th of November 2024, urged leaders to follow in the footsteps of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo by staying connected to the grassroots and maintaining a humble approach to leadership. He reminded them of their inauguration oath to promote peace and harmony within the council.

Furthermore, Salifu encouraged female vice chairpersons and council leaders to focus on proportional representation, in line with Governor Ododo’s efforts to increase female participation in governance. He also cautioned against creating alternative structures outside the established framework, emphasizing the need to emulate Governor Ododo’s leadership qualities.

Hon. Mikhail Suleiman Mohammed, the Kogi East Zonal Chairman of the APC, echoed the importance of inclusivity within the party and urged elected council leaders to welcome new or returning members. He emphasized the goal of achieving victory in the upcoming election.

This meeting underscores the Kogi State Government’s commitment to good governance and aligns with Governor Ododo’s vision for a prosperous state.
