The Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has reiterated his administration’s unwavering dedication to providing top-notch healthcare services to the people of the state.

This commitment was emphasized during the flag-off ceremony for the distribution of medical equipment, consumables, and anti-malaria doses for preventive chemotherapy for children in Lokoja.

Governor Ododo underscored the importance of revamping the State Central Medical Store to ensure proper storage and procurement of medical supplies.

He also highlighted the achievements of his administration in the health sector, such as enrolling civil servants in the Health Insurance Scheme and upgrading 70 Primary Health Centers to meet standard requirements.

Furthermore, Governor Ododo emphasized the significance of maternal healthcare and expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for supporting the healthcare development agency.

The Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abdulazeez Adeiza, commended the Governor for his commitment to delivering quality healthcare in the state.

Dr. Adeiza highlighted the substantial investments made by the state government in revitalizing the healthcare system, including infrastructure development and health worker training.

He assured that Governor Ododo’s administration will spare no effort in ensuring that the people of Kogi State have access to high-quality and affordable healthcare services.

The Commissioner also mentioned the training of thousands of health workers under the COPRE Project in collaboration with the National Disease Control to strengthen the primary healthcare system across the state.

In her remarks, Pharmacist Salamat Ize, the Executive Secretary of the Kogi State Drugs Management and Medical Supply Agency, expressed appreciation to the Governor for building upon the achievements of the previous administration in the health sector.
