In a remarkable display of religious tolerance and unity, the Kogi State Government, under the leadership of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, hosted the state’s first-ever Christmas Carol Service and Festival of Praise on Sunday. The event, which took place at the Muhammadu Buhari Civic Centre, was a huge success, attracting a large turnout of Christians and non-Christians alike.
The Carol Service, themed “Jesus Reigns,” was a historic moment for the state, marking the first time such an event has been held since Kogi State’s creation over thirty years ago.
The Secretary to the Government of Kogi State, Mrs. Folashade Ayoade, described the programme as a proof of the state’s commitment to unity and religious tolerance.
Governor Ododo’s administration has been instrumental in fostering a sense of unity and inclusiveness among the state’s diverse population. The hosting of the Christmas Carol Service is just one of the many initiatives undertaken by the governor to promote religious tolerance and understanding.
The event was also attended by top government functionaries, Christian leaders, and other stakeholders. The Guest Preacher, Evangelist Isaac Omolehin, and the Regional Pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Region twenty-four, Pastor Rotimi Nathaniel, delivered inspiring sermons that emphasized the importance of love, unity, and compassion during the festive season.
Governor Ododo’s commitment to delivering good governance and promoting unity among the people of Kogi State has earned him widespread praise. His administration’s efforts to create an enabling environment for religious tolerance and understanding have been particularly commendable.
The hosting of the Christmas Carol Service is but Governor Ododo’s vision for a united and harmonious Kogi State. As the state continues to make strides in promoting religious tolerance and understanding, Governor Ododo remains the best gift that former Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello has given to the state.
