The Kogi State Government has again emphasized the need for effective service delivery towards actualizing the goals of the present administration.

To this end, the State Government has organized a three-day workshop for Permanent Secretaries in the state service aimed at enhancing service delivery in the twenty first century.

The training which was facilitated through the Office of the Head of Civil Service in collaboration with the Center for Management Development (CMD), is designed to equip Permanent Secretaries with the necessary skills to improve efficiency and productivity in the state’s civil service.

While declaring the workshop open, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, represented by the Secretary to the Government of Kogi State, Dr. (Mrs) Folashade Arike Ayoade, urged the participants to take full advantage of the training to enhance their capacity and contribute meaningfully to the transformation of the civil service in Kogi State.

The Governor described the role of Permanent Secretaries as vital in effective service, stressing that such roles in service delivery cannot be underestimated.

He urged them to take their positions seriously as well as contribute meaningfully in their respective offices.

In his address, the State Head of Civil Service, Dr. Elijah Evinemi stated that the workshop underscores the government’s commitment to building a result-oriented service in line with global best practices and the modern governance system.

The facilitators of the training, Mr Akanti Emmanuel and Dr. Habibat Salihu with a specialty in public administration, urged the Permanent Secretaries to always set the pace in general administration.

They maintained that through enhancing service delivery and commitment to duty, the target in the 21st century will be attained.
