The Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo has reiterated Governor Ododo’s unwavering commitment to justice and fairness to the citizens of the state, describing him as a man of peace who believes in the harmony of the people of the state.

The Hon Commissioner made this known while receiving the Directorate of Alternative Dispute Resolution(ADR) of the State Ministry of Justice in his office in Lokoja today, Tuesday 19th November 2024.

Hon Fanwo stated that people had started embracing alternative ways of resolving issues amicably without going to court, noting that it’s easier, costs less, and keeps the community united.

Speaking further, he added that ADR is one of the non -kinetic methods that has been established to ensure security in society without arms and ammunition.

He emphasized that the ministry has the core mandate to inform the citizens about the activities, programs, policies, projects of the government, assuring the directorate of adequate sensitization on ADR to the nooks and crannies of the state.

“The Kogi Sate Government has been magnanimous with the Information Ministry by improving our Information and Communications infrastructure in the state. Currently, our transmitters are the most modern in Nigeria. We would yield our platforms to you for adequate publicity of ADR.

The administration of Alhaji Usman Ododo seeks to maintain peace, security, and stability in the state. I’m very sure you would study his body language. He is a man of peace, a man who believes in the harmony of the people. He is a man who is committed to justice and fairness.This is going to be one of the avenues through which we can assist the people to access justice ,” Hon. Fanwo emphasized.

Hon Fanwo charged the directorate to remain dedicated, committed, and resolute, expressing his confidence that the directorate would be of great help to the good people of Kogi State.

The team leader of the Directorate of ADR, Barr. Onuche Oyibo described the Ministry of Information and Communications as a strategic ministry to sensitize the people and enhance the awareness of the new department called ADR, adding that ADR is an alternative means of resolving disputes as opposed to the traditional routine of going to court to settle disputes.

Barr Onuche highlighted that ADR is for the benefit of the people as it helps to settle disputes amicably on time and without charging legal fees. He therefore appealed to the Hon Commissioner to use the platforms as well as Radio Kogi and the Graphic Newspaper to reach out to the citizenry.
