The Head of Service of Kogi State has been honored with an Award of Excellence as the Grand Patron of the National Civil Service Union (NCSU).
During the 80th National Executive Council (NEC) meeting held by the Kogi State Council, Mr. Elijah Evinemi FCA, the Head of Service, expressed his appreciation for the union’s leadership in promoting industrial peace and prioritizing the welfare of workers in the country.
Represented by Mrs. Memunat Shuaibu, the Permanent Secretary of Establishment, Training, and Industrial Matters, Mr. Evinemi encouraged NCSU to continue providing guidance and setting a professional example for other unions to follow, ultimately contributing to the country’s progress.
Mr. Evinemi thanked the Union for bestowing upon him the Grand Patron Award and reiterated his dedication to ensuring that the union meets expectations for improved service delivery.
Furthermore, the National President of NCSU, Comrade Sunday Adeleye Oluwole, highlighted the decision to hold the NEC meeting in Kogi State as a recognition of the Governor’s efforts to enhance the standards of public servants in the state. Governor Ododo was praised for being the first Governor to approve and implement a minimum wage of #70,000 for workers in Nigeria.
As a result, the National leadership decided to honor Governor Ododo with the 2024 Best Governor in Nigeria award. Additionally, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Labour Matters, Comrade Onuh Edoka, was presented with the Architect of Modern Trade Union Award by the union.
