The Kogi state Governor,Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has passionately urged citizens to take full ownership of government properties such as roads and streetlights. He emphasized the importance of ensuring the proper care, maintenance, and security of these public assets to enhance public infrastructure and improve community life.
The Governor made the appeal during an inspiring inspection of key projects in Lokoja, Governor Ododo stressed the significance of collective responsibility in preserving government properties. He called on residents, road users, and the community at large to protect and secure these assets as a service to humanity. The Governor reiterated his commitment to serving the people sincerely, transparently, and with the fear of God.
Governor Ododo also expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his unwavering support, which has enabled the state government to fulfill its mandate to the people. He credited President Tinubu as the driving force behind the positive changes in the state.
While interacting with market women, youth, and men at Zango Daji, Governor Ododo assured them of his administration’s dedication to providing the necessary infrastructure for the people of Kogi State. He specifically promised to build a hospital in Zango Daji to address the healthcare needs of the community.
As a servant of the people, Governor Ododo emphasized his commitment to fulfilling the needs and aspirations of the residents. He assured the community that their well-being is a top priority, and he will continue to work tirelessly to improve their quality of life
Let me assure you, I will give you a good hospital very soon. Health is wealth, and that is the reason we are investing heavily in healthcare so that our people will enjoy good health”, the Governor promised.
The residents of Zango Daji, Shettima and Barracks came out massively to thank the Governor for the completion of the Zone 8 Junction – Barracks – Shettima – Zango Daji to GYB Junction road as well as the Zone 8 Junction – Confluence Stadium – Crusher Road.
The Governor also inspected the newly rebuilt Local Government Service Commission House as well as having unannounced visits to the GYB Model Science Secondary School Adankolo where the students were excited to receive the people’s Governor.
At the school, a representative of the students, Zainab, appreciated the Governor for making it possible for children of the poor to have access to education.
In her remarks, “Your Excellency, sir, your payment of examination fees for students has enabled children of the poor to have access to education. You have demonstrated commitment to the plights of the poor in Kogi State.”
“You are paying for all the internal and external examinations as well as making education free in all public schools, from primary to secondary schools. You are indeed a great leader. ”
In his address, Governor Ododo expressed the determination of his administration to continue to make education the number one priority of his administration, urging all the students to be good Ambassadors and pass their examinations well enough to be able to pursue their dreams. To meet the needs of the students and the school, His Excellency assured the students that hostels would be built for them and that he would procure a school bus for them.
