Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State has distributed security gadgets to 1050 hunters across 21 Local Government Areas in the state.

This initiative aims to enhance the efforts of these hunters in combating crimes and criminal activities within the state.

During the distribution event, Governor Ododo emphasized his administration’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the people of Kogi State.

He made it clear that the state will not tolerate criminal elements and that all necessary measures will be taken to eradicate them.

Governor Ododo urged the hunters to collaborate with other security agencies and operate professionally in their efforts to rid the state of criminal activities.

He emphasized the importance of a united front in safeguarding the state and encouraged the hunters to take decisive action against criminals.

Earlier in his address, the Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Bertrand Onuoha disclosed that the items distributed are to assist conventional security agencies in the state to combat insecurities.

The Commissioner commended the Kogi State Governor for his proactive approach in safeguarding lives and properties in the region.

He emphasized the unique topography of Kogi State, which presents security challenges that require a coordinated effort from all security agencies.

The Commissioner stressed the importance of aligning with the Inspector General of Police’s directive on community policing.

In order to effectively address security concerns, the Commissioner called for the integration of all security agencies in the State.

He instructed Area Commanders to collaborate with vigilantes and hunters to enhance security measures.

“By working together harmoniously, the Commissioner believes that their services will be more effective and efficient”, he stressed.

Onuoha encouraged members of the hunters’ association and vigilantes to collaborate closely with other security forces to combat criminal activities in Kogi State.

He urged them to remain dedicated to protecting law-abiding citizens in the region.
