The Kogi State Commissioner for Education Honorable Wemi Jones says the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo is committed towards ensuring that the physically challenged people in the State have access to quality Education.

He stated this on Thursday at the end of the session party and graduation ceremony of Lokoja School for the Deaf and Special Needs.

The Commissioner who was represented by the Acting Permanent Secretary Mrs. Omolayo Barikisu Onasare said the State will continue to work towards improving facilities, providing specialized training for teachers and also ensuring that specialized schools like Lokoja School for the Deaf have the resources they need to excel.

He said that every child regardless of his or her physical abilities deserves access to quality education, urging the society ,parents and guardians to support the education of people with disabilities as their contribution to societal growth is unimaginable.

The Commissioner congratulated the class of 2025 for their academic excellence saying that their success is a clear indication that if provided equal opportunities, extraordinary things will happen.

He commended the management and the teachers for their unwaivering dedication to creating an inclusive learning environment for the students to learn.

Speaking, the school principal Mrs. Ayodele Anifowose described the school as a family bound by love and compassion and with the unwaivering beliefs that a child can learn, achieve and shine if given the support and encouragement.

She congratulated the graduating students for their resilience and proving that with determination nothing is impossible.
