The Kogi State Head of Civil Service, Hajiya Falilat Musa Yusuf, Esq., has charged Permanent Secretaries across Ministries, Department and Agencies (MDAs) to entrench a culture of punctuality and discipline as a foundation for improved service delivery in the state civil service.
She gave the charge while engaging members of the Forum of Permanent Secretaries in her office, where she sought their cooperation and support in driving reforms aimed at strengthening efficiency and professionalism within the service. According to her, Permanent Secretaries, as accounting and administrative heads of their respective ministries, must lead by example and ensure strict adherence to official work hours and ethical standards.
Hajiya Yusuf further encouraged members of the forum to deploy innovative ideas and forward-thinking strategies capable of enhancing productivity and repositioning the Kogi State Civil Service in line with modern public-sector best practices. She emphasized that innovation, teamwork, and commitment are critical to achieving the vision of the present administration.
The Head of Service reiterated that collective responsibility remains key, stressing that every ministry must contribute meaningfully to making the civil service a responsive and reliable engine of governance.
In his closing remarks, the Chairman of the Forum of Permanent Secretaries, Elder S. O. Odeh, assured the Head of Service of the forum’s full support and readiness to key into all her initiatives. He pledged the commitment of Permanent Secretaries to work collaboratively with the Head of Service to ensure the successful implementation of policies and reforms aimed at improving service delivery across the state.
