The challenged Parenthood Initiative have been commended for their initiative towards repositioning Ganaja Community of Ajaokuta Local Government Area.

 

The Executive Director, Kogi State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr. Muazu Omeiza Musa gave the commendation at a meeting with the Initiative at the Boardroom of the Agency in Lokoja.

 

The Challenged Parenthood Initiative (CPI) is a Nigerian Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) focused on empowering women and the girl child, advocating against teenage pregnancy, and supporting rural youth development.

 

Led by Executive Director Eunice Abimbola Agbogun, CPI operates primarily in Kogi State to address reproductive health, education, and economic empowerment.

 

Key details about the Challenged Parenthood Initiative (CPI) include, Advocatiy for the girl child and women, focusing on reducing teenage pregnancy, supporting out-of-school girls, and enhancing economic empowerment.

 

Other Key areas are Conducting workshops on family planning, safe motherhood, and rearing practices, Empowering rural youth through vocational training and education, Working with partners like Heinrich Böll Stiftung to promote gender equality, women’s political participation, addressing community issues like flooding and collaborating with government agencies on gender equality.

 

Represented by the Director Administration of the Agency, Mr. Ijalija Opkanachi David, the Executive Director appreciated their resilience for what he called plan for the future noting that as people who own the project, they should also work towards ensuring that they contribute meaningfully to the well being of their community.

 

He advised the people to own the projects by ensuring that they care and keep watch over the equipment to avoid being vandalized and promised continued collaboration with the Initiative.

 

Emphasizing on the reason for being at the Agency, the Executive Director, Challenged Parenthood Initiative, Kogi State, Mrs Eunice Abimbola Agbogun said some areas of intervention that is most needed include rehabilitation of Nyamanyama through 500 Unit housing route, provision of Primary Health care centre, improved Welfare for internally displaced persons among others.

 

The chairperson, internally displaced persons, Mrs Achor Joy and the chairperson, working group of the Initiative, Honourable Blessed Ibe Egbunu, in their words, requested for the provision of a primary Healthcare centre at the heart of Ganaja as as the provision of WASH materials including clean water, sanitation facilities and hygiene items.

 

In their various submissions, the BHCPF DO, Dr. Hadiya Ismail, the Zonal coordinator in the Agency, Aminu Yusuf and the Director Community Health, Dr. Abdullahi Onimisi Ajayi, all prayed for continued patronage with the Initiative for the growth of the Organization.

 

In attendance at the meeting were Doctors in the Agency, Programme Manager Impact and the Management team of the Agency.
