Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has made significant strides in securing the lives and properties of the people of Kogi State during his tenure.
Since assuming office on January 27, 2024, Governor Ododo has prioritized the safety and security of the citizens as a cornerstone of his administration.
Under his leadership, Kogi State has experienced a notable decrease in crime rates, instilling a sense of safety and security among the populace. Governor Ododo’s approach to enhancing security is comprehensive, involving collaboration with law enforcement agencies, community engagement, and the implementation of technology-driven solutions.
One of the key achievements of Governor Ododo’s administration is the strengthening of law enforcement agencies within the state. Increased funding and resources have enabled the police force and other security outfits to operate more effectively, enhancing their ability to combat crime.
The governor has also advocated for better training for these agencies to further improve their operational capabilities.
Governor Ododo’s Community Policing Initiatives have been particularly successful in fostering cooperation between law enforcement and local communities. By establishing neighborhood watch groups and encouraging citizen participation in reporting crimes, the administration has created a safer environment throughout the state. Security Gadgets such as introduction of surveillance systems and emergency response applications has improved monitoring capabilities across urban areas.
This technological integration has allows for quicker responses to incidents and enhances overall situational awareness among security personnel.
More impressive is the Collaboration with Federal Security Agencies through which Ododo’s administration has actively sought collaboration with federal security agencies and as such the Nigerian Army and the Department of State Services (DSS). Joint operations have been conducted to address issues such as banditry and kidnapping, which have plagued various regions within Kogi State before the administration came on board. These collaborations have resulted in successful operations that have disrupted criminal activities within major flash points in the state.
Public Awareness Campaigns to further bolster security efforts, have been launched to educate citizens about safety practices and how to report suspicious activities. as so far empower residents by providing them with knowledge on how they can contribute to their own safety and that of their communities.
All of these efforts have collectively contribute to creating a safer environment for residents.
It will be recalled that shortly after the combative efforts through the Governor’s efforts Alhaji Usman Ododo was glad to receive rescued CUSTECH students and subsequent provided gadgets for trained 1050 Hunters to Support Security operations in the state is fast breading the desired results.
Earlier in his administration determined efforts at combating crimes and criminalities in the state. The Governor had Unveils New Security Vehicles, for security operatives in the state and restates his government commitment to security of all. The Governor equally unveils Metropolitan Quick Response Squad to tackle security challenges in the state. All of these laudable efforts have continued to make Kogi State inhabitable for criminals elements and the state is gradually becoming a safer habitat for peace loving Nigerians and foreigners to be conducting their business activities without any fair of harassment , intimidation, kidnapping nor lost of lives and properties. Kogi State is fast becoming the leading safest state in Nigeria.
Overall, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s commitment to securing lives and properties in Kogi State has been unwavering, and his efforts have yielded tangible results in making the state a safer place for all its residents.
