Lokoja, February 26, 2026 – The Kogi State Signage and Advertisement Agency (KOSAA) convened its first major meeting of the year with billboard owners and advertising practitioners at the agency’s office on Thursday.

In his address, the General Manager of KOSAA, Hon. Osaseyi Richard, described the advertising sector as one of Nigeria’s fastest-growing industries. He noted that the establishment of KOSAA in 2022 and its full operational launch in 2024 marked a significant development by the state government. Hon. Osaseyi emphasized that the agency has come to stay and that the revenue generated will greatly contribute to state development and improve the lives of its residents.

Hon. Osaseyi encouraged all practitioners and billboard owners to form a unified association or union. He stressed the importance of having one vision, one voice, and harmonized rates to foster professionalism and fairness in the industry. He also advised that the body be backed by a constitution to ensure standardized pricing for clients.

He further stated that all practitioners must register with KOSAA to distinguish between legal and illegal operators. The agency will remove all illegal billboards, particularly those clustered in ways that cause environmental damage or urban disorder.

Hon. Osaseyi also called for a strong, cooperative working relationship between practitioners and KOSAA to enhance professionalism and drive the agency forward.

Several practitioners at the meeting expressed satisfaction with the agency’s management and appreciation to the state government for establishing KOSAA. They affirmed their readiness to cooperate fully with the agency for the progress of Kogi State.
