The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barr Salami Momodu Ozigi Deedat has urged members of the Emiwo clan/ruling house of Kakanda to tread the path of peace in choosing the next occupant of the Agankyu of Kakanda stool.

The Commissioner said this in a meeting necessitated by disagreement over the choice of the next Agankyu.

The Commissioner acknowledged the receipt of a petition that discommended the Kakanda kingmakers’ choice of Engr Faruk Muhammad as the next Agankyu of Kakanda.

Mall Mohammed Idris, Mall Mohammed Sule Alhaji, Engr Faruk Muhammad and many others in their presentations gave their positions on the issues arising from the petition. All their presentations predicated upon the view of the Shaaba as the crown prince and ascension of throne by the eldest male.

The Commissioner urged all sides to maintain peace and harmony and assured them that the issue will be put to rest by the State Government.
